Profile of the Position

As a Payroll Specialist – Africa, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations across multiple African countries. You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of all payroll processes, contributing directly to the employee experience and financial accuracy of the company.
This position requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional who can balance technical expertise with effective communication and collaboration across cultures. It calls for a person with international exposure, capable of living in an international environment.

Major Tasks

In this role, you will:
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for multiple African locations, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.
  • Consolidate, review, and process all payroll changes within established deadlines while maintaining full documentation and audit trails.
  • Manage shadow payrolls and track internal company loans where applicable.
  • Maintain precise payroll data, ensuring alignment between Workday and other payroll systems.
  • Guarantee full compliance with local labor laws and internal Aggreko policies in every payroll cycle.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with external payroll vendors, holding them accountable for agreed KPIs.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including calculations for new hires, transfers, and departing employees.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and resolve payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee payslip management, ensuring accurate and timely uploads to Workday.
  • Lead and support payroll process improvement initiatives and contribute to broader payroll projects.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and data protection standards when managing sensitive payroll information.
  • Provide payroll data and reports for internal and external audits.
  • Regularly review and update payroll documentation to reflect process enhancements and compliance updates.
