The supply planner opportunity

We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated supply planner to join our team in Malaysia. In this role, you will be responsible for generating net requirements for our plants and vendors, developing supply plans, and creating deployment strategies in both weekly and monthly cycles.

As a Supply Planner at Nestlé, you will play a critical role in ensuring replenishment of raw and packaging (R&P) materials to meet customer demand while balancing network complexity, inventory targets, and supply constraints. You will also design supply scenarios, evaluating their feasibility, risks, and opportunities to keep our operations running smoothly.

Major Tasks

As part of the supply chain team, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Supply and Production Planning: Generate production requirements from approved demand plans while meeting inventory targets and considering supply constraints.

  • Scenario Analysis: Run “what-if” scenarios to bridge supply and demand gaps, evaluate solutions, and determine feasibility based on business requests.

  • Collaboration: Work with stakeholders such as Manufacturing to ensure products are produced and delivered to the market, minimizing out-of-stock risks over an 18-month horizon.

  • Data and Process Accuracy: Maintain updated master data, ensuring system alignment with realistic production processes.

  • Risk Management: Anticipate potential supply issues and analyze the trade-offs and impacts of different supply chain decisions.

  • Inventory Optimization: Partner with Inventory Analysts to achieve agreed inventory targets while striving for reductions that don’t compromise product availability.

  • Performance Monitoring: Lead weekly and monthly production review meetings, addressing challenges and tracking progress.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate across departments to align on goals and achieve supply chain excellence.

Expected Outcomes

To thrive in this role, we seek candidates who demonstrate both professional expertise and a growth mindset. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or economics. A master’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, or an MBA is a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in supply planning, distribution planning, or logistics.

  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and related supply chain tools.

  • Previous experience working in a multinational environment, with the ability to navigate cultural diversity and manage cross-border operations.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • The ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.

  • A strong sense of curiosity, problem-solving skills, and the capacity for critical thinking.
