Details of the Apprenticeship

As an Apprentice Auto Electrician, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuous service delivery within our workshops, on-site facilities, and during standby duties. Working closely with a qualified technician, you’ll learn how to diagnose, maintain, and repair complex electrical systems in heavy-duty vehicles.
This position provides you with an excellent opportunity to build technical expertise while contributing to one of the most respected commercial vehicle manufacturers in South Africa.

Major Tasks

During your apprenticeship, you will participate in a variety of practical and theoretical learning experiences, including:

Technical Training & Knowledge Development
Take full advantage of every opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in the chosen trade. You’ll be guided through a structured learning path that includes both classroom-based theory and hands-on practice.
Service and Repair Assistance
Under the supervision of a qualified auto electrician, you’ll carry out electrical servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on vehicles. This hands-on experience will equip you with the technical precision and confidence required in the automotive sector.
On-the-Job Learning
Work as an understudy alongside a certified auto electrician to gain practical experience in fault-finding, maintenance, and system testing.
Team Collaboration
Support the workshop team in daily operations, assisting with various electrical repairs and installations while adhering to safety standards and company protocols.
Continuous Learning and Development
Attend all relevant technical college courses and complete required examinations or tests to progress successfully through each apprenticeship phase.
Customer-Focused Service
Learn the importance of maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering quality service on time.

Eligibility Criteria

MAN Automobile is a giant vehicle company not only in South Africa but also on the whole African continent. Thus, to qualify to work for the company, there are criteria to be adhered to. To be considered for this apprenticeship, candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications and skill requirements:

Educational Requirements:

N1 Certificate or higher, including the following subjects:

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
Customer-focused approach with a strong sense of responsibility and results orientation.
Proactive, motivated, and detail-oriented attitude.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
