Profile of the Post

  • As an FNB Wealth Manager, you will act as a trusted financial advisor to high-income clients, offering strategic advice and tailored solutions across savings, investments, risk management, and estate planning.
  • The primary goal of this role is to help clients achieve their financial objectives while aligning recommendations with FNB’s values, investment philosophy, and compliance framework.

Major Tasks

As part of FNB’s Wealth Management team, you will:

  • Develop and present customized financial proposals in areas such as investment planning, estate planning, cash management, and risk management to help clients reach their long-term financial goals.
  • Identify opportunities to promote and advise on FirstRand-approved investment and risk products, ensuring all solutions align with client needs and FNB’s regulatory framework.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of investment opportunities to determine their suitability for client portfolios.
  • Review and update clients’ financial plans regularly, taking into account changes in personal circumstances, market trends, and economic conditions.
  • Deliver consistent and high-quality service in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and overall business targets.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professional advice, ensuring that all recommendations adhere to FNB’s investment principles and product governance standards.
  • Engage in networking, benchmarking, and industry forums to stay informed of best practices and maintain FNB’s competitive edge in wealth management.
  • Prepare periodic reports on service delivery and client engagement performance.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and governance requirements in all advisory activities.
  • Uphold expert knowledge of legislative amendments, market trends, and FNB’s compliance procedures.
  • Provide professional mentorship and guidance to junior advisors or interns where appropriate.
  • Contribute to cross-functional collaboration and maintain relationships across departments to ensure integrated service delivery to clients.

Description of the Candidate

This opportunity is open to candidates who are motivated, ethical, and dedicated to building long-term relationships with clients. You are expected to be a team player and be prepared to live with people from diverse backgrounds. You will be the right fit if you possess:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in investment management, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
  • A Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification is highly preferred.
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a wealth manager or financial advisor, ideally with exposure to high-net-worth or affluent client portfolios.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales and advisory targets in a client-focused environment.
  • A strong understanding of financial markets, investment instruments, and portfolio diversification strategies.
