The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA) is offering the Industrial Futures Bursary for 2026. This bursary helps young South Africans pay for studies in fields related to the chemical and manufacturing industries. Who can apply?

You must meet all these requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be unemployed
  • Aged 16–35 years
  • Have finished Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Got at least 75% overall average in Matric
  • Have acceptance (or registration) for 2026 at a public university or TVET college
  • Come from a household with a combined income of R600,000 or less per year

Priority is given to students with strong marks and demonstrated financial need.

What does the bursary pay for?

  • Tuition fees — up to R76,000 per year
  • Textbooks and other approved academic costs (when funds are available)
